Stand-Up Survey Results
I surveyed 20 different people between the ages of 16 and 60 about who their favorite standup comedians are. They were allowed to mention as many comedians as they pleased. 50 votes were cast divided from the 20 people. Not one comedian was mentioned more than 4 times.
This data shows that many of the surveyed people have different senses of humor, and enjoy different comedians. This is a small sample size but it is large enough to get a good perspective on what people find funny within the SLA community. Louis C.K., John Stewart, Gabriel Iglesias, and Mitch Hedberg were all the highest individual vote receivers. It didn't come as surprise to see Stewart and C.K. tie for the most votes due to how popular they are today, though I was surprised at the popularity of Hedberg and Iglesias just because Hedberg is no longer alive, and cause Iglesias doesn't have his own TV show, thus making them less visible to the public eye.
